The Unsung Masters Series publishes one book a year in partnership with Inprint, Gulf Coast, Pleiades Press, Copper Nickel, and Ploughshares. Each volume focuses on an important writer who has been unjustly neglected and/or whose work is currently out of print. In addition to a generous sample of creative work, every volume includes numerous essays on the writer's work.
The Unsung Masters Series is interested in proposals for future volumes. Proposals must be submitted each year by October 1. All proposals we receive will be then considered in October and November.
Proposals should include a one-page biography of the author, including a discussion of the author's status as "unsung," and a brief sample (5-10 pages) of the author's work. Please be sure to explain who currently owns the rights to the work and/or any potential rights complications that might arise in the production of the book.
